Author and photographer Garvey Rich tells his story of what it was like growing up as a boy in Greenwich Village when the Stonewall Riots sparked the Gay Pride Movement and marched down the block he lived. Telling a usually unheard of perspective of what it was like growing up a straight male just a few blocks from the Gay Mecca of America, Christopher Street. He has dedicated the book to his Grandmother Jenny whose family fought their way out of the pogroms of Russia to get to New York City, juxtaposing his family s fight for freedom to the Gay Pride Movement.
Russian Girl, Olena Ierega, writes about the pervasive homophobia still prevalent in her hometown in the Ukraine.

But Moscow authorities will not budge, and did not grant a permit for a public demonstration of Gay Pride in 2011 resulting in clashes and arrests in Moscow this past May 28, 2011, when marchers attempted their parade.
